When the body experiences an injury, prolonged illness, shock or grief for example, we can often get stuck in a state of ‘survival’ this is when the body has been consistently called upon to produce hormones to help the body cope with the stress.
The issue arises when the stress keeps coming without sufficient time for reset in between and the stress hormones begin to build up in your body. As this continues our bodies can get stuck in a state of constant alert, the body starts to over produce stress responses and non vital bodily functions begin to shut down enabling the bodies reduced energy to be used to simply complete the necessary functions to sustain life.
When this happens we can start to suffer from ‘brain fog’, lack of focus or attention, inability to see a way to achieve things, sleep disturbances, fatigue, low self esteem, depression and so on.
Understanding the stressors, their root cause and what support they need enables us to guide you through the process of gently removing these blocks, clearing the emotions we have been holding and resetting the endocrine system, responsible for the production and management of hormones, so that your body can return to a balanced state and start to refocus on thriving not just surviving.
